A lot of times there is no response to a question simply because the question is gear specific. A multitude of people use software sequencers, but not everyone uses Cakewalk, Cubebase, Logic, Vision... This extends into hardware and every other realm of gear. There's too many different products and too many different models available for someone to know everything about every peice of equipment, that's the reason for manufacturer tech support, user groups and mailing lists. Also, nine times out of ten, if a person were to read the manual there would be no need for posting many questions anyway. Yeah, it would help if the manuals were written from a little less technical position, but the answers are there. However, manuals might not tell you how to use envelpoes to avoid stepping, but that's where sites like this excell.
Aside from the occasional (and expected) embellishing over who has what, people here try to answer questions with accuracy. Unlike folks at some sites, if we do not have the experience required to answer the question asked, we let the question pass on for someone who does have the answer, meaning, it may take a while before the question gets answered.
I happen like this site because of the lack of mindless chatter and, overtime, traffic here has gotten heavier. There is another site for postings like: "Everyone's age, do tell", "What kind of car do you drive, do tell", "How do you wake up in the morning?..". Give me a break! Considering topics like those, you tell me which is the better synthesizer, gear, and overall music related site. ....I'm done.
