Wow. This looks like a major step forward in arranger tech. Ketron ups the ante!

Just wait - I can see it now - Yamaha will come out with their version of 'live audio arrangers' to compete. Then SA voices will be old technology and you'll probably find them, along with megavoices even on their entry level boards...hmmm in about 5 years, maybe?

Ain't technology a hoot?

Tim,
It does make you wonder really. The day that SA voices trickle down to the entry level models..., you can't help but wonder where the voice quality will be in the upper end units.. I'm still waiting for those "Super Galactic Voices" of the future Hell by that time a keyboard will probably be nothing more than an ipod with a midi controller attached

Can't wait to see/hear this board in person!

I am curious about one thing.

One would expect that the price on the AUDYA would be close to $4,000.00 US, or more! Hope I'm wrong!

With that in mind, I'm concerned about the unusually low amount of built-in styles. The specs say over 200, but thats a long way from T2s 400.

Any thoughts?

Don P

Geez..., the price WILL be up there man! If the Ketron SD-5 goes for over $2,000 I can only imagine what the cost of this new model will be.

Don....
400 vs 200? the key is personal "USABLE" styles
Styles are a non issue in today's arranger market as far as availability, flexibility, conversion, with so many ways to mix & match.... the Audya is so much more then just an arranger KB........my sources in Europe who have seen the Audya tell me this is going to blow the sox of the arranger world feature wise...I guess we'll wait and see? If its near $4k and does so much more its worth it to those who can afford it & will benefit from all its features.

One thing to remember though, the more there is of IT, the less there is of US; the more it does, the less we do; not always such a good thing. Lets hope we never get to the point where the emphasis is on the 'machine' and not on the performer. JMO.
