Hi:
Ketron is probably the most use module and keyboard used THAT way at least in the Arizona state area, I know more than a dozen+ of profesional midi guitarist that use is like that. In fact, there are 2 trends, one is like trigering chord changes from the guitar and with footswitches change the variations, fill ins, endings, etc....( the most popular use). The other is to play the lead, there is this duet "Me and my Gal", my friends Phillis and Roy, she plays the chords in their SD1+ and he plays lead besides singing. The models used to achieve this are: Ketron XD3-XD9, X1-X4- SD1-SD1+ and the previous models like the MS 50-60 40 AND 100. Hope it helps.

Been using Ketron (formerly,Solton) for years. Now, i use a keyboard, but the 13 note pedalboard allows you to access starts, stops, fills, breaks...any 13 functions you choose while using your midi guitar or a unique set of conventional looking bass pedals that allow you to use your right toes and heels for minors, 7th's, etc.. It's a proprietary board for use with either Ketron keyboards or modules (X-1, Midjay, etc.)
They've been in the business a long time. The first unit I was aware of was the Auto Orchestra.
The beast thing to do is contact AJ via the Ketron forum. He's the expert and will be glad to take the time to explain functions, etc.
For what you want to do, I believe this is the best available solution. It's the choice of pro's around the world.
