Hi Group,

Has anyone had success in converting a BIAB style for realtime performance on any arranger module kbd.

If so, what software was used?

I have a Generalmusic Genesys XP module. Styles for Generalmusic kbds seem hard to come by.

There are several of my BIAB styles that I really like and would like to convert to Genesys XP format if at all possible.

Any help is welcomed.

Regards,
Don

Hi Don,
only for KN7000, & SD1 & PSR styles.
Currently only way to do it is create a midifile from BIAB style ( song actually),
then use midifile to style function.
Technics had midifile to style function built in, PSR can be done using pc software ( omb, midi2style etc) SD1 has to be recorded across via midi or using EMC software.
I believe General Music may have midifile to style function inbuilt??
Currently EMC software doesn't support BIAB style conversion.

best wishes

Michael P Bedesem's free Stylemaker software includes facilities to auto convert BIAB styles to Yamaha style format. I did about 20 so far in approx an hour. They need to be tweaked afterward becaue the default style volume for each instrument in BIAB is 90. Also, I needed to change instrument voices and mess with the effects a little.

So far the quickest method I've found is to introduce the newly converted style into One Man Band's style converter, and while using my T2 as OMB's sound module, I make the adjustments there.

It's fairly easy compared to trying to tweak form within the board ( for permanent tweaks ). I can do quick tweaks in the board and save in registrations, but for actual modifications to the style, using the board's pattern style maker the process takes much longer.
