Hi all,
I have recently been collaborating with a 'real' country girl on one of the songwriting boards I frequent. We thought it would be fun to write a song together.

We did this by sending lyric sheets and MP3's back and forth from the US to Uk via email. Given the limitations of this I think we did quite well.

Basically Lucy wrote the lyric and I wrote the music. I made her change a few words along the way and she 'tried' to make me change a few notes (Just jesting ) Then I played and she sang. Yip guys...... as a special treat this time I will not be exposing y'all (see it is rubbing off ) to the de/merits of my own voice. The fabulous Lucy is singing this one.

It's called Freedom Train and you can hop on board here .... http://www.tonywmusic.co.uk/mp3/freedomtrain.mp3

Finally why do I think I am Don Mason? Because I have gone all country and I found myself a nice country girl Alas I only want mine for her Lyrics and her voice
Best wishes and hope you all enjoy it
Tony

Tony, overall a very nice beat and feel. Terrific drumkit sparkle (crashes, fills).

I don't know what it sounds like thru yours (and other peoples) speakers, but thru my Cambridge SoundWorks computer speakers, the 'kick drum' and/or 'bass guitar' volume distracts from Lucy's vocals & making out the lyrics very clearly. Unless it's just my computer sound system, I recommend lowering the aforementioned instruments in the mix.

btw: Tony, when I heard 'Freedom Train' I was able to tell right off that 'you' wrote this song , because you've now developed a song writing style distictively recognizable as yours, a good thing of course

I think Lucy has a distintively unusual & uniquely memorable sounding voice, the type that record producers are always looking for to showcase a 'new' artist & sound. Curious where (what Country/region) Lucy hails from. Wishing you both the best in your song collaberation efforts.

Scott

Brilliant idea of sending material back and forth to put together a song. It surely is a small world we live in.

Thanks for sharing your song with us Tony!

Best regards,
Mike

Hi Donny, Scott and Mike,
Thanks for the listen, very much appreciated. Scott I did not notice the bass or kick drum interfering too much through my MA-10 's hooked up to the pc but would be interested to hear if anyone else notices a problem through their setup's. Soundworks are quite good pc speakers imho so maybe there is a problem and the MA-10's are decieving me. (Well it would be an excuse to spend money on some decent monitors )

Best wishes
Tony
