I had a Leslie 760, big and strong with good solid wheels. That was actually handy when banquet hall managers would make the band go thru the kitchen area. Those floors were greasy with lard and stuff. Other band members would pile stuff on the 760 and then we'd hang on and roll thru. Those kitchen workers must have been real good dancers.

I can't compare to the Leslie 145, but if you are at all familiar with the Leslie 760, this may help some. The 760 had 2 separate amps with a little more power than the 145s (I think).

I tried the Pro145 in a store, but without cranking it up much. It had a very acceptable sound for my taste, but compared to the old 760 I had, it seemed to lack the depth or thickness in sound that was produced from the 760 at low levels.

Keyboard Magazine tested the Pro145 a while back. You might want to try and find that article. If your interested in what they said, I know I can go thru my old mags and find it.

FYI, I found the Pro-145 report in the Aug20003 and they say a lot of good things about it. They refer to "Flexible tone sculpture options". The observation I made in previous post was nothing more than seeing it there and playing on it, with wherever the controls were set to, at the time.

Hope you can find one to listen to. Then you'll know whether or not it meets -your- expectations.

Here is the Review.....

I had a PRO-3T which is just the horn section. I didn't like it at all and returned it.

I thought having a real rotary speaker would throw the sound around the room, but it was woefull in it's projection of the sound even in a smal room. It was bright and sounded nice, but so does a static amplifier.
