OK, I just managed to get one of those Art Tatum videos from Youtube.com I used a website called
http://keepvid.com/ You simply paste in the URL of the clip and select Youtube in the site box. Then click the download button. You will see "Loading..." appear below while it gets it and saves the video to a downloadable file. When the "Loading..." changes to "Download link" then left click on that and then click on the save button that appears. I then changed the "File Type" in the browse box to "All File" ( not Doc ) and then made the filename be something.flv
I then used that free Riva encoder that I mentioned earlier to encode from FLV to MPG and voila it worked. While this may sound complicated, once you've done it, it is easy to do it over again. Now you don't have to use Riva as any software that can convert from FLV will be fine. I just mention Riva as it is free. I tried converting to an AVI with Riva but it wouldn't play back on my PC. MPG did work though, so experiment to see what files types Riva can convert to. But you will have a copy of the original .FLV video on your PC to play around with using different converters.
And I noticed that when the Riva encoder installed it also installed an FLV Player so there is no real need to even convert the FLV to see the video play.
