I had been using the z5500s with mike stands for mounting of the satellite speakers. Based on an idea from Tony Mads USA I made what follows in the photos. I mounted the satellites on a 48" x 6 " pine board. I spray painted the board black ( need to do a litte retouching I missed a spot) The stand is a 2 tier Quik Lok stand. Instead of using the 2nd tier for another keyboard I flipped the 2nd tier so it was level with the first tier. I mounted industrial strength velcro on the pine board and 2nd tier.

That looks pretty good. My only reservation about putting speakers in front is monitoring your sound... as opposed to them being behind you. I guess you could point the middle one back at you. (Onboard speakers on keyboards are not loud enough sometimes, seems to me.)

Steve ... As I said in my e-mail ... nice job ... I noticed that 'unpainted end' .. thought maybe you ran out of paint ...

Bill: I agree with you about monitoring the system ... In my set up, I left the center spkr off the front platform and use it as a monitor ... It has worked well ... In fact, on gigs, I plug a jack in the headphone plug so that the on-board spkrs aren't playing, and I hear just the 5500's ...

Yea, Tony not only did I run out of paint, my black magic marker was out of ink too. Of course you know the windshield story on this project

Bill I have been using the built in speakers on the 3000. But Tony's idea of pointing that center speaker at him and the earphone jack sounds like the way to go.

Steve ... I think you will find the 'monitor' idea better especially as you start singing more ...unless you are putting the mic through the kb and can hear yourself through the on-boards ... I still prefer the 'monitor' idea ...

PS ... I think you should share the 'windshield' story ...
