On www.rolandg70.com the samples can be found!

I took them during the live demo of Christian Jager at my dealer's shop October 30th.

Unfortunately the factory demo's are not available yet.

Klasse!

Nice to hear these demo's, but the old styles were still used? The voices used where nice to hear..

It still sounds typically Roland..

More members wrote the styles are 'old' ones, I have no idea.
Perhaps the new ones are being developed right now?

Sander : Still planning to go...thursday?
I hope more samples will be available on Dacapo site.

I agree with Sander. It sounds like a Roland. That harmonica screams Roland. Same with the sax The harmonica on the G-70 sounds just like the one on the XP-60/80. I'd love to hear factory demos when they're available.

A good friend (known as Guillermo... also a member)just called me, telling he visited a G70 demonstration at Music All In at Noordwijk.
He was pretty impressed and it is obvious Roland and MAI put some extra effort in the prestation. (perhaps thanks to our critics?)

Much more was showed this time :

a. Sequencer/edit features (Cakewalk product!)

b. Lyrics and score displays,

c. Connecting a standard PC-keyboard to the G70 for entering lyrics etc.

d. Mega-voice alike sounds,

e. Two direction use of the keys, what means a sound (note) is generated during key-down move.... and a note is played at the key-up movement. (like playing a guitar : strike down/strike up)

f. Total (and easy) control of styles (instruments, volumes, effects etc)

....... etc.

The Roland employees are sure about the release date of the G70 before December 2004.
(All functions/features working)

So, much more than my impression was, is ready now..... a great relief

Guillermo is counting hís money now .... ...

Hello Roel,
Unfortunately I didn't make it at Noordwijk.,way too much workload at the moment.
Anyway by the time I can demo the unit, it probably will be in the shop and with a complete O/S.

What I did not see yet is the price?

Did they give you a pricequote?

Fred

Freddy,

As far as I know the 'adviesprijs' is 3499,- Euros. The (in Dutch) going-prijs is about 2900 Euro's (nettoprijs)

I also have not seen how much the G70 will weigh. I am sure they are still working on finalizing the software and such, but why not publicize the weight? Are they waiting to see how much the final version of software will add to the weight of the instrument ?
