I wonder if anyone can share the info here on a successful setup using arranger to create songs/styles, using drums/sounds from a sound module/drum machine incorporated into your sequence on the arranger.

Let's say I've created drums/bass and ac1-ac6 on arranger; now when I press PLAY to play the style I want drum sounds coming from the drum machine into my arranger speakers ;-) same goes for bass line and all AC1-6 parts.

Is this possible? If it is, how hard is that to set it up?

I do know you can hook up a drum machine and use the keyboard to trigger it.. You would be able to record tracks on the keyboard (minus the drum tracks) and have the drum machine play in sync with it.. As far as sound modules, I'm sure this is possible, but I haven't done that. Also if you want it to play on your keyboards speakers your keyboard must have an input jack too....

NEw Yorker ,

The XD3 may be a good match for your needs .
With the drum remix feature , you could literally alternate different drum loops within a sequence ! I will have mp3's of this feature tonight or tommorrow .

New Yorker.
Yes you can but it depends on which arranger you are using.
I used to use the Korg I-3 with my Roland JV-1080 because I liked the drums Bass and guitars more from the roland so I set up my I-3 to only send to external midi this way it wont play those sounds only through midi out and set up the 1080 in performance mode.

There are a few differences between X1 + XD series . The DRUM REMIX feature is the biggest feature that would fill your needs .
Let's use an example ..........

Hotel California .
Instead of using the drum loop that is programmed with the midi sequence , you can use a techno drum loop ( from a style or pattern) from the XD9 (keyboard) or XD3 (module) . Any pattern or style that is in the same time signature as the midi file , can be used with any sequence !

You'll hear MP3's soon enough . I took 2 midi sequences " PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC " and " CALL ME ALL" from Paul Simon . I recorded the songs 2 different ways . 1 with original drum track and than one with a drum remix !

IT's a really cool feature ! dano
