Have read the Korg manual and it doesn't mention wave rom anywhere .

Am trying to work out whether to buy a Roland G70 or PA1XPRO

I know Roland offer 192MB with a Fantom-X piano sample so it must be great sounding .

Tony, I can't find it either. But it's all about your personal preference. You should really try them both out in the store. They both have their own "personality". I recommend also to check out if you like the operating system as well as the key feel.

Some people think that the sounds on the Korg are somewhat shrill or thin, but others prefer the sounds because they cut through the mix better. I also heared people on the Synthzone say that they think Roland keyboards sound a bit "muffled".

So you see, it's all about personal taste.

most likely pa/triton like 32mb board.if they added new samples 64 mb max IMO.

Yes, on www.korgpa.com I read that the PA1X(-Pro) has the Korg Triton sound engine. The Roland has the Fantom-X engine though. Both have extra sounds added to them.
