Sorry, I meant to type OMB job!!!

Guys, I value and need your advice.

I'm giving serious consideration to doing solo OMB jobs. Here is my strategy:

* Put together a playlist for 1-2 hours of music.

* Find the styles that best accomodate the playlist and put in a chart book with chords and lyrics.

* memorize the words where necessary.

* Start practicing this playlist until I can run though it without mistakes.

* Start looking for a small job at a restuarant, cocktail hour, small party, etc.

* get my 1st job under my belt and recover from the fall-out.

* start expanding my repetoire with more songs.

* get bigger jobs

* gain more confidence.

Have I left anything out? Is this a good approach?

Thanks
Al

I would also welcome any input on what my playlist should be. Perhaps someone could send me a workable general purpose play/setlist to use?

Thanks
Al

Al...

Looks like you have all the bases covered. I would also suggest "getting your feet wet" by doing a few senior homes (nursing, assisted living). Easy to book, a captive and appreciative audience, and good confidence builder. Having a plan is a great way to get started... good luck and keep us posted.
