I checked out the Casio WK3100 today.

I have a WK3000..This board sound wise is better than the Yamaha DXG and PSR in the same price range and even double the price..

The Drawbars organs are far better than even the Tyros..Stereo grand is also much better than the PSR 2100 for sure..same with the saxes..Across the whole sound section the Casio is better to me..Not a clunker on board[I can't say that about the PSR series]..

Now ..what they added[pretty much the same as the WK3000 and WK3500] is a mic input...now if they would add a lyric read on the screen, it could be the perfect quick set up board for those 1-2 hour gigs..

The 76 keys are full size and have a decent feel unlike the other guy..even compared to the DXG 305[which I like]..
The 305 does have a lyric read, but it is so small ..it's like reading the bible..
So after today it seems like I would be better off keeping the WK3000 or maybe get the new WK3100..rather than the DXG305..

BTW..the WK3100 is selling for $279,,now that is bang for the buck..

If you need a "CHEAP" board that doesn't sound cheap..check out the WK3100....and watch you smile when you play the Drawbar organs..

From the time they first started making keyboards Casio has always offered instruments that were a true bargain compared to other brands and many had features that were ahead of their time. Many people associate Casio with them being cheap junk but that simply isn't the case.

My first musical instrument was a Casio keyboard and I still have it and it works and looks almost new after nearly 25 years. I hope that Casio continues to build reasonably priced, nice sounding keyboards for the masses for many years to come.

The CTK-900/WK-3200/-3700 are now available, but like the CTK-691/WK-3000/-3500 that preceeded them they don't have a mic input. They seem to sound decent, based on MP3 files at http://www.casio-europe.com/euro/emi/ctk900/sound/ , except for what sounds to me like a "spit-laden" sax .
