I've got a Roland RS-50 (I was going to post this in the Roland section but it's a ghost town). Certain patches play much louder than others. When playing out live, I try to adjust the volume when I know the next patch is going to be louder or quieter than the previous one, but it's not a reliable workaround and it takes the sound guy a few seconds to adjust my levels. I'm told there is a way to adjust the levels on the patches I use so they are all pretty much the same. Anyone have a clue?

Don't know much about the RS50..
If the patches can be edited and stored within the keyboard it would be a simple (if not time consuming) job to go though ech ptch and adjust it's patch levels storing the results.

A audio compressor whacked on the output of the RS50 would compress the loud patches leaving the quite ones to pass though uneffected.

Yeah, looks it you will either have to tweak and store the volume settings for every patch (not a difficult task unless you are just a key player and have no clue about basic programming and patch editing. In that case learn. ) or use a compressor/limiter on the outputs. Wish all the keyboards came with some majic switch to fix it all but usually it takes a bit of messing around to get things right.
