This reminds me of my rock band days in the '60's. That beat was known as the Liverpool beat. It really starts around 2:00. Anyone know which style it is on the E50 or E80/G70?

I've been searching for that beat forever for the Tyros 2. Anybody have a Yamaha version of that style?

Almost makes me consider getting an E50 or 60. How many external styles will it hold?

Best

hi scott!
1. i think the style is "new metal" from e50/e60/e80. i might be wrong tho.
2. on an external memory card, e series can hold tousends of styles, midis, user programs. no limit really.
on the internal memory, several hundres (can vary largely.

aren;t the e80 styles already converted for tyros?!

I think it is UK Pop, from the 16 Beat section.

It sounds like it has been edited a bit, but that just might be the difference between my G70 and the E50 used in the demo. Nice work, though

BTW, I would pay good money for an arranger PACKED with styles like this... I love the drumming on this - busy enough to sound live, plenty of ruffs and ghost notes, live sounding fills... Pretty good for just being a two bar pattern style.

You listen to the alternative charts, and this is what drummers are doing, these days, especially the last Variation4 beat...

diki,
i am sure there are some tweakers that would love to do it, just for fun. and the drums probably are not very dificult to edit in an sequencer like cubase or sonar.
didn't you try? i did and is pretty fun to do it. it just takes good amount of time!

Unfortunately, most of the style creators out there are still concentrating on more classic styles, or ballroom and jazz (which is, I suppose, what the majority of arranger players play), and little gets released (from those that DO have the time and skills to try and create styles) for the more contemporary players.

It's a crying shame that the 'Live Band' style category in the Rolands has by far the fewest styles (only ten) compared with 20-40 of most other categories...

the names won't tell you much probably.
among these styles, there are two mainly-guitar styles, two 6/8 styles, etc.
they all are good. sound pretty much like a band, but even with six fillins is difficult to avoid repetition. you can tell is an arranger. but with less tracks at once, it sound very nice.
