W/out the sampling option, can you still transplant samples into the system via scsi, or do I have to spend the cash for the extra option?

Without the sampling option yes you CAN transfer samples through SCSI and of course transfer them through a disk drive as well.

All you need to do this on your K2500 is sample RAM.
