Hi

As anyone used one of these? If so, what are your findings? They are not available in the UK so before I get one imported I would appreciate some input.

Haven't used this one, but have been playing Carvin amplification and instruments since the early 60's. I currently have two full PA's, multiple cabinets and a neat little three channel all puirpose box I use for PA, guitar and keyboard, plus the matching extension cabinet. If you're out of the country, I'd be careful. Lots of repair shops, particularly the ones in music stores, won't work on them, since they're only available direct and are a little "quirky", design-wise.

Ive enjoyed some Carvin products also thru the years like the AG100D....they definitly make some quality gear....you cant go wrong with them.

Just curious why you think you need 1000 watts for a keyboard amp?

If you are going to use it as a main PA for you AND your arranger (and a whole band!), it is, IMO, still a bit over powered for most gigs an arranger player or OMB might need, and at 65 lb., quite the lug-fest...

Plus, keyboard amps rarely have the evenness of sound to double as a good PA. A 15" and a little tweeter is a combination you rarely see in a good PA cabinet. Only a 16kHz top end... not exactly a sparkling top end.

JMO, yada yada yada....

Diki is right. The little Carvin "all-in-one" is 100 watts, with a 12 and a horn. I use it with the extension cabinet to play for up to 200 in coctail/dining room settings.

The 200 watt unit is good for 300-400 with volume set at about 3. I use a 300 watt Yamaha for 400-600, and the big Carvin I use is two 600 watters with subs, multiple cabs, etc. It's for a whole band for large events.

1000 watts sounds like a little overkill.And, a 15" and small high end sounds like full range would be a problem.

Still, Carvin is good stuff!
