Hi,
Has anyone had a "no disc" on their PA80, when there is a disc in there? I tried loading the 2.02 o/s in and got that message. I'm thinking the floppy drive isn't working.
thanks,
Terry

Hello Terry,
Have you tried loading anything insert the floppy in press disk button now try loading a style, song or something and see if the green light lit up if not try another thing leave the o.s. 2.0.2 disk in the floppy drive turn off the power and then power up the PA-80 while the disk is in the drive, it should read the floppy if it does not then it means there is no power coming to floppy drive that mean either you or someone else have to open up the PA-80 to fix it if you just bought it then try returning it if not it is still cover under warranty.
Regards.

Arbaz,
Thanks for the input. I have tried loading it and other things in the ways you've suggested and nothing...."no disc." I think you're right that there is no power getting to the drive, no green light. I'm tempted to look "under the hood" and see if it's just something is unplugged.

Hi Terry
On the pa80 Forum, I also suggested you try to see if any other floppies are working. Guess you got nowhere with that. I would attempt to open it up and check the cables to the floppy, IF IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY. I have no idea how easy that might be. Otherwise, you should bring it back to your dealer. Maybe you'll just get a new one.

Tom,
Thanks for the input. That's what I wound up doing, exchanging it for another one and this one works fine. It was the floppy drive not working in the other one.
Thanks,
Terry
