Hi All,
I am new to this group. I just play for fun at home. Just got a PA1XPRO last week. I have been studying the manual for a month or so and found the programmability and features truely outstanding.

I Currentlu play a Kurzweil K2600 and have a Kurzweil PC2R ( RACK UNIT) MIDI to it. This is IMHO the ultimate in sounds! But, read on...

OK, on with the initial review...
1) Some of the sounds are absolutly great, and very musical ( after touch etc)
2) Some of the sounds are just ok, have you ever found a board with all sounds that are excellant? Not!
3) The styles ( have only begun to check them all out are outstanding. I especially love the LAtin's and Rock, but the JAzz is also great.
4) Quality is OUTSTANDING OVERALL. The KEYBOARD IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT FOR ME ANYWAYS, as I come from Organ playing, not Piano. The key action IS SEMI WEIGHTED (Not just springs)
5) Playability is great, the performance with STS is where the power is!
6) I love the sliders and the programmability of them (IF ONLY THEY WOULD NOW ADD MIDI CONTROLLER CAPABILITY TO THEM!)
7) I like my keyboards slightly tilted (back up about 2") and it even helps to get a better angle on the color display ( I am only 5'5" tall)
8) I find the color touch screen works very well. I can hit the correct spot very easy. You can't be sloppy about it, but I find it works well for me.
9)Audio out is excellant quality ( I use Mackie HR824 monitors.
10) OK to a feature that meansa lot to me and one reason out of many I bought this board! YOU CAN SET ANY TRACK YOU WANT (AND IT GETS SAVED WITH THE PERFORMANCE TOO!) TO EXTERNAL MODE!!! WHEN YOU DO THIS, GUESS WHAT,, IT LETS YOU KEY IN THE MIDI OUT PROGRAM CHANGE MESSAGE TO SENT TO AN EXTERNAL SOUND MODUE ETC! WOW, I HAVE THIS HOOKED UP TO MY KURZWEIL AND NOW IN ANY PERFORMANCE I WANT I CAN USE THE WONDERFUL KURZ SOUND TO AUGMENT THE PA1XPRO!
sO, I CAN USE THE SOUNDS OF THE PA1XPRO i LIKE AND ADD OR SUBSTITUTE ANY SOUND FROM EXTERNAL KBD'S, RACK'S OT EVEN PC BASED SAMPLERS (GIGA ETC.)aLSO, IT EVEN SENDS THE INITIAL VOLUME MIDI MSG TO THE CHANNEL WHEN YOU SELECT THE PERFORMANCE.

Guys & Gals, this is absolutely super and I don't think? any other arranger can do this?

It really means that the PA1XPRO can be used for all of the player features we need in an arranger , but we are not limited to it's sounds long term. Of course you can MIDI to other sound modules with any modern arranger, BUT thos baby let's you program in the program change msgs which makes it very powerful in live performance.

I would like to know how everybody else out there is getting along with their PA1XPRO? Lets learn from each others experiences.
