I am just starting to build my own Setups. The first Setup is intended to be a Setup of identical drum kits, i.e., the Stereo Ballad Kit from the Sweetwater Session Drums CD on each of the first three zones.

My objective is to be able to simultaneously send the kick drum from Zone 1 on channel 1, the snare drum from Zone 2 on channel 2, and the high hat from Zone 3 on channel 3. This would permit me to record in Pro Tools LE on three MIDI tracks simultaneously.

I entered the Ballad Kit into each of the first three Zones of the Default Setup. (I would have added only the individual Layers, but I couldn't figure out how from the Manual). However, the drum sounds are different than the original sounds. I assume they have different effects applied. I had (apparently incorrectly) assumed that if I load a Program into a Setup Zone, this would change EVERY setting in that zone. The Kurzweil video simply shows the Program being added and that is it.

When I enter a Program into a Setup Zone, what specific settings are NOT changed? I am trying to avoid going through and searching every Setup Zone setting to see what is different between the original Program and the Setup Zone.

Is there a way for me to load a Program into a Setup Zone and consequently change every setting in the Zone (including effects processing) so the sound will be exactly the same?

When in the Setup Editor, use the IMPFX function to import the FX settings used in the original Ballad kit program.

The only other step you need to do to make this work is set the key range for each zone.
