Now that I have a need for my rarely before used webcam, I think I need to buy a better one. The one I have was made specifically for a laptop and has a great bendy cable which fits directly into the USB socket.Unfortunately when I switch to Full Screen on the VoiP/Video the picture is scrambled and multicoloured!
Any recommendations?
cheers

I use the Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000, which is great. My daughter has the same cam in UK, and I view them full screen on my 21" LCD PC screen with reasonable definition.

The small image of me/ us is great quality.

Thanks Graham and Scott
As you both favour the Logitech QuickcamPro4000 I had a look at the specs and the price. The specs are impressive but I have seen good specs for the Creative NX Pro which seem to be adequate to put it mildly. Relative prices are (in UK) £79.99 for the Logitech and £39 for the Creative, so I need to have another look at the Logitech to see if the extra pennies are worth it.
Thanks and cheers

Thanks for the info Tony.
Unfortunately, the 'JustDeals' do not ship outside the USA.
The 4000 webcams are apparently not pin-new but re-furbished and without software but I don't see this as a problem.
Good to have touched base again yesterday with you via Skype and Dialcom. Pity my webcam is not yet fully enjoyable.
cheers
LATER:
I have found that there is a JustDeals company in Ireland which will deliver the 4000 to England. Same deal,re-furbished product without software (which you download) for £42.85 delivered.
I am considering!

Eddie,

Another option is the Philips Toucam PRO. Exceptional image quality, 1 lux even, and very good still pictures in 800x600 for web pictures . Streaming video is flawless and it has a real CCD image sensor, not a CMOS like most of them. Best one I ever bought!

Good luck,
John

Thanks John
I am keeping an eye on an ebay bid I am making at the moment which will end in 4 hours time! But I will also have a look at the one you suggested right now.

Hi Graham
great to see you and the Florida sunshine!
Hope we have time again to have a longer chat and I hope that by that time I will have a better webcam.
My regards to your wife whom I heard but unfortunately was unable to see.
It was perhaps as well that she did not see me too closely, you will surely have noticed that I was in my dressing gown and ready for my supper before retiring.
Have a nice day.
cheers

Hi Eddie

Great to see and talk to you too today. I am sorry I had to end our call early when a generator was delivered, but hey, hurricane season started on June 1st, and we have to be prepared. Charlie hit us hard last year, and power was out for days. I would have preferred to have spent the money on new speakers, but such is life.

By the way, don't feel alone, you have to run fast to keep up with my wife, who recently graduated with her Masters in nursing and is now a nurse practitioner.

Best wishes

Graham
