I'm looking for my first synth,
and have found two used ones that seem really interesting, a Korg Trinity and a Kurzweil K2000VP.

I know it's a stupid question (so much to consider), but - please help me - which one to go for?
The Kurzweil seem really interesting being not only sample-playback, as the Trinity.
BUT the Trinity has *many* nice effects.
Can't seem to make up my mind, and I hate it.
Anyone have any comments?

(they both cost $700, the K2000 includes a bag, cdrom etc.)

Both are great synths, but the Kurzweil edges out the Korg for programming the synth engine. The Korg wins are far as the insert FXs being more instant gratification.

The Korg is easier to operate as it has a lower learning curve. The Kurzweil will give you a life time of synth fun as long as you don't tax the power supply i.e it blows up.

Both are excellent synths so it is a matter of which one sounds and feels best to you.

The Kurzweil is probally the most supported synth by it's user base and much of the information is of very high quality and freely availible on the internet.

Both are great choices and it is a tuff decision. I'd just flip a coin as both are more than satisfactory for someone starting out.
