I was in jr. high & high school in the 1950's and remember the great sounding ballads like "Tell Me Why" and "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing" by groups like The Four Aces. However, it seems that many 50s ballad styles are based on a triplet feel such as "A Summer Place". What I'm talking about is the gentle shuffle feeling i.e. Doomba, Doomda, Doomba, Doomba. The only thing that I've found even close to this is variation D of the "Lounge Piano" style in the Tyros for PSR2000 Bonus 4 set. I'm playing for two different 50s class reunions soon and need to play several of these type songs. Thus, I could use several styles of this type if available. I have a Yamaha PSR2100 and a Yamaha 9000 Pro. I would rather have styles that are "tweeked" for the PSR2100 but any would be welcomed.
Thanks,
Deaton

Deaton,

You'll find a great style for Summer Place on my Gig Disk #1 at www.psrtutorial.com

Also, I emailed the same style to you. It's set up for the PSR-2000, therefore, it will play just fine on the 2100.

Cheers,

Gary

***PLEASE NOTE***
I used "A SummerPlace" (12/8 triplet feel) as an example of what I do not need. I'm looking for a "soft shuffle" for the 50s ballads. It's like you're saying "boom-da, boom-da, boom-da, boom-da."
Thanks,
Deaton

Try a slow swing .... like the kind that workd for Glenn Miller's "Moonlight Serenade". Just turn off all the brass parts.

The technics kn6000 has a "Shuffle Ballad" style that I use for tunes like those you mentioned ... but I'm not sure if the technics style will play on your kb, or how to download it and send it to you .. perhaps some other 'techie'?? ....
