Is anyone using Real Guitar and what is your impression?

I'm using it. I've tried out several sample sets and have heard several more. I also have the playable megavoices on the Motif ES, but there isn't anything on the market that I know of that emulates an acoustic guitar as well as RG does. Played right I think it could fool a lot of folks.

I have it too.
It fools guitar players.

I agree, I have used the trial version on my Abacus Keyboard, and friends who actually play guitar live in various groups have been really impressed, the full version is awesome.
However there is another program that does the same as Real Guitar, but unlike RG which uses samples, this software actually transmits over Midi, so that you could use any guitar from any soft or hardware package/keyboard/Expander, to get brilliant results, I heard it at Caister and it is just as good as Real Guitar.
Unfortunately it is called Guitar Mode and is only available on the Roland G70, however if Roland could be convinced to release it as a VST Plug-in, it would be available to all. (Any idea how we could get them to do this)

Yeah, I got it last month after being blown away by the trial demo. If you order V1.5 before Music Lab releases V2 (they say Nov.) you can get the upgrade for free.

I think maybe the steel strings are a little better than the nylon, but I'm qubbling. RG is 8 great guitars. Haven't tried the patterns, I just keep it in "solo" mode and play notes and chords on the midi controller, running either as a VST through Sonar, or in stand-alone.

They say 2.0 will have a legato slide that will span any two notes you play, and I'm wondering whether that will be able to be used to render some facsimilie of a Dobro or pedal steel. I kind of doubt it, but we'll see.

This has become my "go to" acoustic guitar, and I can't reccomend it highly enough.
