I recently bought Cakewalk Pro 8 and have been using it with a Korg x5d with no problems as far as the connection (other problems with Cakewalk, yes, but not in connecting to the Korg) I tried hooking it up to my Kurzweil PC88MX. I went to midi receive mode on the Kurz, turned off all channels I wasn't going to use, set the proper patch to each channel, and turned off the global "local" control. I also set the Cakewalk instrument definition to the PC88mx. When I pushed play, I heard all of the tracks, but the piano was doubling the drum sounds, etc.

I have used the pc88mx with a Yamaha sy77 sequencer before with no problem.

What's UP??!?!

I don't have a PC88mx, but to my opinion there are only two possibilities;
1. The banksetting in Cakewalk on channel 10
(drums) refers to the capitol tones instead of the drumsets. (doubleclick bank to cheque) 2. The drumchannel of the PC88mx is set on channel 16.
