i can buy a new roland em2000 i believe its a g1000?? for &999 is this a good deal!!!! will i be happy with the sounds pop and dance are my needs for writing original material.are there loads of styles available, or should i save for one of the new keybuords. can i easily work the chords fills on the roland then save as midi file then download to cubase will it rember all the settings.does it make tea!!!
I recently bought the EM2000 and it is an amazing keyboard imho. I take it you are in the UK as you say you can get one for £999 ...the price I payed for mine and worth every penny. However take a look at the mag.. Music Mart if you are considering buying as a company advertising in there are doing them for £899. (I found out too late.)
The zip drive is wonderful giving you immediate access to an extra 300+ styles on the supplied zip disc. That is in addition to the 120 odd in the keyboard itself. Also there are about 350 smf,s on the zip disc too.
Far be it from me to dissagree with Uncle Dave but my EM2000 does have a sczi port....but that could be a UK difference thing as I beleive that the spec is slightly different on US models???
Get one get one :-))) All the best Tony
(Off to check the back off his EM just to be sure that that sczi port aint an air vent :-)
Wow! What a relief. I thought I had put my neck on the line there only to find that what I took for a SCZI port would indeed turn out to be for connecting the electric heater for cold Christmas gigs :-)
BTW uncle Dave the VA7 sounds good but don't make me want want one when I have only just parted with me hard earned for the EM :-) I will get into sooo much trouble if I start hinting about the VA7 (Well at least before Christmas) :-))
I tried out the KN6000 when I was still undecided and the scat/vocal voices were truly awesome. Would you say the VA7's are better?
I have always had technics stuff before but it was the price of the EM compared to that of the KN6000 that finally persuaded me to try Roland. Compared to the 5000 I have to say that so far I am not at all dissapointed. For the price the Zip drive is a wonderful tool when you consider what it would cost to get a hard drive fitted to the 6000.
