Can people just pour out all the stuff they know about this? I've heard of key problems, but I have doubts as to how serious they are if major bands like Tower of Power and Earth Wind & Fire use this keyboard. Thanks for your thoughts.

Yeah, I have read complaints about the keyboard, which is a Fatar controller. But on the other hand, a guy I know uses one all the time for his main live piano night after night, and manages to execute some very expressive jazz piano on it with no problems. Actually he could be the guy you are referring to, Freddie Ravel who has worked as musical director for Earth Wind & Fire in recent years, and now is backing Al Jareau on tour as we speak.

I was speaking with a technician the other day while he was working on my K25. He reportedly has seen quite a few PC88s with keyboard problems and also added, K'weil is going to be or already is (I don't remember which) replacing the keyboard of the PCs with the board used in K25X. Again, this is only what I was told so I do not know if it is fact, but I have found this tech to be a reliable source.

The key action on my pc-88 has been steadily disintegrating since I bought it. It is now in the shop under warranty and they tell me that they've redesigned the action.
They tell me that I'll have the board back in 6-8 weeks which is a drag because it is my livelyhood and they wouldn't give me a loaner. I'm pissed. But if they have actually redesigned the action, its a good axe. kurzweil's phone # (253)589-3200.
