Anyone heard anything on this board? I saw a reference to it some time ago... I checked it out on the Ketron web page, and it seems to be quite similar to the XD-9. However, there is a huge plus to the Vega because I see it has a joystick in place of the pitchbend and modulation wheels..... Is the Vega to be released at the same time as the XD-9 and XD-3?

Squeak, Vega is the Oriental Version of XD9 is what it seems like. Vega is very similar to the X1 in a way, but no sequencer and no sampler. It is geared towards arabic music mainly (oriental more general term). Apparently for live music its got more features than the X1, but as far as sound quality, it seems to be the same level as the X1.
my two cents and a quarter!

Dano email me the price on the Vega please

thanks

Ok now Im confused regarding the lack of sequencer on the Vega..... I saw in the specs it listed song recording as direct disk.. I assumed this was a sequencer that was set up almost identical to Solton MS series. Is everyone not considering it a true sequencer because it's not internal. I assumed it was set up like the Yamaha PSR series with direct disk recording...

Squeak ,
You have always been able to call up a style and press record . All Ketron products have been able to do this since the MS series .

The VEGA / XD series will not have a dedicated 16 track sequencer like the X series or SD1 .
You will be able to record patterns with the XD series . Than you can record direct to floppy or the hard drive. Sincerely dano

Ohhh I see now... If you call up a style, press record, can you then go back and add additional tracks to that?

No ! you can not add additional tracks .

With the X seies or SD1 you could copy that recording and than add additional parts !

Please remember that style recording will have 2 drum kits / bass and 5 parts with the XD series . dano

Ahhhhh.. I see.. Thanks for the info Dan0. I wonder why they left the sequencers out on that board. It would only make it better.
