... but just thought for those interested, we pray for John Paul (2nd) who passed on to the next world today. He was indeed a great man and good leader.

Pope John Paul II was truly a Pope who spoke the language of the people. He spoke eight languages fluently and used them all.

He was a very moral person who wouldn't backdown or sway his stance according to popular opinion of the masses, i.e. people's opinions or beliefs that were contrary to the Word of God; which, as the Pope he was intrusted to uphold.

He was a very compassionate person who even met with, prayed for and forgave the person who attempted to assassinate him in 1981.

He was the first non-Italian Pope in 455 years and the first Polish Pope ever. He will be dearly missed not only by Catholics the world over but in my opinion by most everyone with an ounce of true spirituality in them. He was indeed a great man and more importantly a great man of God.

Best regards,
Mike

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord and let the Perpetual Light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen

Thanks to AJ for posting this topic and to those who added their sincere messages for a man who truly stood above the crowd. As has been said so many times already, Pope John Paul's shoes are going to be hard to fill. There is little I can add to what's already been said about this man.

Personally, I have been very impressed by the coverage provided by the Fox News Channel relative to the death of the Pope. They are doing a truly outstanding job. I'm assuming that some of our friends outside the U.S. are getting this coverage as well.
