Could somebody help....I find it so frustrating when you do a recording on the 9000,and towards the end you want to stop the drums and perhaps carry on with only certain instruments to the end but then the sequencer also stops. I must be stupid but I simply cannot find the answer anywhere. PLease help and thanks a lot! Are there talks about possible upgrades in the future?

Let the drums run further than you need. Then go back and erase them, or lower the volume where you want them to disapear. The sequencer clock follows the start/stop switch, and that's the trouble. You might also try muting the drums during the recording - see if that works.

Thanks to you all for your replies.....I really appreciate it.......I also have a Technics 2000 and on this one you can stop the drums without the sequencer being stopped....This is quit handy sometimes ad I just wished the psr could follow suit. Regards to all.

That has always been a deficiency in Yamaha's keyboards. The Yamaha keyboards I owned in the past exhibited the same limitation. GEM does sequencing right. I hope Yamaha will read this post and fix it their sequencers in new versions.
Yamaha does have the problem and it is very strange I thought that it would have been corrected in their $3000 arranger but no I have Korg PA-80 and it does sequence even when I stop the drums start the drums aftre a while whatever I do the sequencer keeps running like the energizer bunny. :-)
