HI: Alain
Vince Cochran from the Yamaha PSR Styles
Group has answered your question.
AKA: Vince the hard drive man !!!!!!
Hi
You can save up to 250 styles from a particular directory in the 'Disk
Direct' button and use them in the registration banks from the Hard Drive by
loading.
First I suggest that you make a favourite styles directory on your Hard
Drive and load them into the 'Disk Direct' button by pressing the 'Disk
Direct' button,
1, 'Popup' and selecting one of the HD partitions from the 'Device' column.
2, Move the directories into the centre, 'Directory' column.
3, Select your favourite style directory that you have made.
4, You will see all your styles in the 'Content' column on the right.
5, Press 'Next' a message will say "The Directory has changed" etc. press
OK.
It's important that you save the favourite styles directory in the 'Disk
Direct' button by pressing the musical notes 'A' button on the main screen
and press 'Backup' so that the keyboard will default to the favourite styles
directory each time you press the 'Disk Direct' button, the disadvantage is
that it will take a little time to load all the styles, you then can store
them into the registration banks.
It is very much like saving styles from a floppy disk into the registration
banks, you will need the floppy disk in the drive each time you want to play
the styles in the registration banks, but the Hard Drive holds a lot more
and no hunting about for floppies.
Again like a floppy you can't save OTS (One Touch Settings) from the 'Disk
Direct' mode, this applies to both the 9000 and Pro.
When we had the last upgrades on the 9000 and Pro, the 'Data Base' changed
so when we were using some onboard styles either from the 'Pre-set' or
'Flash' styles that were used from the 'Data Base' in the registration
banks, they were no longer there, that's why we had this message "Can't find
the style"
I hope this info may be useful.
Regards to all
Vince, 'The Real Deal' Hard Drive Man.
PS: I load all my styles into the Flash Styles until it's full
make my registration's of songs then make a backup
file & save that to hard drive.
Then clear out the Flash Styles & start a new one
etc.etc.
I name each backup file & make a list of songs that are
on each file, when I want to play them songs I load
that backup file.
Just another way of doing it, works good for me.
