Hi Frank,
unfortunately it's just not me. If it doesn't plug into a power point & have the ability to play itself, then it's no good to me. My instruments have to be able to go it alone, haa haa.
I even had an acoustic piano once, that plugged into a powerpoint and played itself.

best wishes
Rikki

rikkisbears,
Hmm ... this new feature (RIFF) comes close. When you play any song with a style, the arranger 'monitors' your playing mode/sequence (chord changes, velocity). When you go to Arranger "D" (if RIFF is available for that style), the arranger will then play a melodic line (using complex chord progressions comon to that particular style, plus incoorporating the chord sequences you just played and the melodies you played with the lead, changing chords and adding lead lines by itself and you can now play lead parts and lower parts irrespective of the arranger. Ofcouse to avoid 'over crowding' parts are instanlty mutted when you start playing again. You can no longer control the chords and this permits you to play 'freely' through the keyboard. RIFF depends from style to style and in some cases can be as long as 16-32 measures long! When you go out of RIFF into Arranger (A-C), the arranger now recognizes your chords once more!

So, even though it kinda doesn't play by itself, it kinda does!

AJ

AJ, it might have been me making a little fun of Rikki in that she might abaondon all this midi stuff and buy an accordion....where she is the controller. There is no midi to run things for her. It is just one more way for her to spend some money.

Hi AJ,
sorry about that. My reply was to Frank suggesting I take up the accordian.( a NON midi one at that.) I don't think he's quite forgiven me for buying a new arranger keyboard (SD1+). Luv's poking fun at me. Haa Haa.

Seriously though, the riff sounds like quite an interesting function. At first I thought it was something along the lines of the yammie & KN multi pads , but obviously it does much more.

Hopefully Ketron will have a huge hit on their hands.

best wishes
Rikki

What's it called?
That would make it slightly more expensive then the Yamaha PSR3000?

Take a peek at this short quick time video to see Accordion Fun! a lady can have.
( Its Lynn Marie Rink @ www.lynnmarie.net/ )

A midi version can control 5 midi channels, usually 3 on the right side, 1 on the bass buttons and another on the chord buttons.
This and a Ketron MJ ...

Quick Dan, stock up on this portable music box! Its a keeper.

Great Demo Mr Ed,
I have enough trouble concentrating on pressing fill & variation buttons at the right time on a keyboard, let alone do what's required to play the accordian.
She certainly makes it look like a lot of fun.

best wishes
Rikki
