Maybe a stupid question, but I have come across posts on other forums that Yamaha now owns Korg! Is this true or just hype? If anyone has any info let us know? I personally hope it's a rumor especially during these troubled times, if you know what I mean.

We've talked about this before.
Many years ago, Yamaha loaned Korg (the families are very friendly in Japan) some money for their company. The loan was paid off and there is no truth to Yamaha owning part of Korg. However, Korg does buy some of Yamaha's key beds to put in some of their models. That's it!

Wonder about if we opened up our keyboards,
and compared the inside stuff, would we be
really surprised about all the pieces who are
made in the same factory?
I think we'll find a lot, just as inside the
PC's, whatever the brand is

I was shopping for Honda Passport and when I opened it, it's all Isuzu. No differences except the logo.

It is the same in other phases of the consumer electronic industry as well. I used to repair radios years ago when it was generally more cost effective to do so ( today change an entire board or module or buy a new radio..it's often more cost effective ). Some of the circuit boards from Radio Shack and Uniden were identical...of course..it was no secret that Uniden was making the products for Radio Shack, much in the way I believe that Casio is the driving force for all of the Radio Shack home keyboards over the years.
