Today, I received more Vega's, XD9's and a couple of XD3 modules.
The XD3 is very simple looking. In fact, I wish they could have made it smaller because there are not very many buttons on the surface compared to how many buttons the X4 has. I think, the reason for all the extra space in the front is because they had to use the same chasis as the X1 and XD9. Rather than building a new box, the XD3 is the same size, although there is quite a bit of room from the front of the unit to the buttons and display.
It works great and the only thing you need to know is that it defaults to accordian mode in the midi set up and if you want to play it from a midi keyboard, you need to change the midi set up to "General 1" and not "Accordian 1".
It is an outstanding module and will be a winner in my store. It's competition is the Generalmusic WK2 arranger, which is quite a bit less expensive (around $699.00), but there is nothing else in the price range of the XD3, which is in the $1500.00 price range without the hard drive.

What do you think of the possibility to control the XD3 by an organ? It can only send upper on ch1, lower on ch2 and bass on ch3. Would it be possible to switch between auto bass and play manual bass line on the pedals?

Yes, you could do this. You can set up the module to play bass on ch.3 and have the arranger play on channel 1 or 2 so you could have both manual bass control and full auto accomp. when you want it.

Hello Tonkan, yes, you can, I used to play my Yamaha EL90 with the RA 95, and later I updated to the Ketron X1 HD, and the latest with the SD1.....it work G R E A T !!, but later I desided that was to heavy, then I just start using the SD1 & the X1.....
