The problem is: how much do you really want to lose weight? Are you seriously prepared to sacrifice to reach that goal?
If the answer is yes here is the ONLY way to do that: change your habits!
The trick is all here. Start each meal eating vegetables and fruits, and do not use all those fatty seasonings, but, simply, a little olive oil, a little (very little) salt and as much vinegar as you like. Then, after this, wait 5 minutes before eating next course.
This will fill your stomach and lower your hunger. Moreover, it will lower your blood pressure and help your digestion and your intestine.
Then always eat simple food, and avoid to mix them: flesh only, or cheese only or eggs only... and vegetables, tons of vegetables.
Finally, take your ass off your chair and go out: run or bicycle or tennis or football or any other sport / fitness. As an example, go walking every day for half an hour (hey, walking doesn't mean dragging your feet one after the other... i mean walking... something like 4 km / hour).
So, change your habit this way and you will lose that fatty thing hanging around you, and your healt will rise.
Just one more thing. I've tried all this stuff. I stop this torture after two months; my weight is 95 kg, and I'm still carrying around my "tummy".

As I said earlier, be careful with diets such as the Atkins'... and as others have said,if we REALLY want to lose weight and be healthier, we HAVE to change our lifestyle,.. at least the eating part of it ... After success and failure with Atkins, Slim-fast, and "watching' what I eat, my wife has me attempting the Weight Watchers diet, and I've joined a walking program at work ... I can see that it takes a change in lifestyle to a degree ... you can eat ANYTHING as long as you account for it ... it really amounts to SENSIBLE eating, but since when has it been easy for us to be sensible?!?!? ... I've said in another post that one of my passions is cooking ... well, that's only half of it ... the other half is eating what I cook ... so now, before I start cooking, I try to have a piece of fruit, or vegetables, to 'take the edge' off the hunger ... ... gosh it's tough to be beautiful ... t.

Jose is right. The only way to lose fat and keep it off is through proper diet and exercise. For the diet, talk with a nutritionist or dietician. They will put you on a healthy diet. It's a waste of time and effort (as well as dangerous) to figure out one yourself and chances are you'll be wrong anyway. Also, for exercise, the best one for losing fat is walking (30 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week). By keeping your heartrate below 55-65% of your max. calculated heartrate will allow you to burn more fat than carbs. Stay away from those phoney diets. They will only do you harm and cost you money. The biggest problem with people trying to lose weight on their own is that they think they are experts. What a waste (waist)! Also, some people think lifting weights is the way to go. But, lose the fat, then lift the weights otherwise, you'll have muscles building up under the fat and you'll never see them. I also read an article that said that people who are overweight after age 30, lose one year off their lifespan for every year over 30 years of age that they are overweight. Food for thought! One thing to remember about Carbs, is that the body needs those carbs. The brain is the major user of carbs. Carbs are a readily available supply of glucose while fat cells and protein have to be broken down first. Also, watch your protein input. Protein has to be broken down by the kidneys, and the higher level of protein can overwork the kidneys to failure. Something to consider when looking into these "fly by night" diets. The moral to all of this is: take the time to consult experts before you diet and stay away from fad diets.

Well to be back on topic" I don't mind (and it happens all the time )but they usually are female... Anyway I start swimming coming week , it was planned a couple of month's ago, but hey there's allways an excuse each week, ....maybe next year... I should blame my wife, she cooks delicious. I guess the only remedy is EAT LESS.
