It is sad to see that the Spanish people fell victim to the terrorist's wants and desires. As you said Artaher the terrorists wanted the Socialists to win the elections and gain power. A liberal "left" form of government that will cater to the terrorists goal of acheiving their desires, or so they're hoping. The Spanish people played right into the terrorists hands by not having the resolve to "stick to their guns" about their commitment to the war in Iraq (which ultimately the war was a good thing IMO) to oust the evil regime of Saddam Hussein and his henchmen.
The Socialists have no plan 'or idea' of how to stop the terrorists in their tracks let alone the ability to prevent similar incidences from happening again to its citizens. So it is a double sad day for Spain. The loss of 200 lives and the sad fact that the Spanish people were not resilient enough to stand up to their convictions of the war in Iraq and because of it played right into the hands of the terrorists by electing the Socialists to power which the terrorists wanted to happen. It is sad that Spaniards couldn't see through the terrorist's ploy and stand up to their convictions and do the right thing instead they cowered to the terrorist's wishes and elected the Socialists to power.
And in so doing the terrorists got what they wanted. Sad day indeed for Spaniards.
Best regards,
Mike
