Has anyone tried to sample (or buy a sample) of a better acoustic piano for the Pa80? That's the weakest part on the unit .... maybe it doesn't HAVE to be ?

I never bothered UD because I got the Motif and I like the piano sound on it. I also find the piano sample to bne theweakest link on the whole board. I guess you'd have to buy that "special" Korg 8mb flash card ( a little to high at the asking price for me but it might be well worth it for you ). I also didn;t buy the card it because initially Korg stated that you could not use multisamples and that basically meant that all the samples were "one shots" that could not be transposed ( pitch ) along the keys. ( Good for drums and percussive or specialty sounds but not much else ). I understand that with the OS upgrades that Korg LMP multisamples can now be used and any instrument can be sampled and transposed on the keys.

Another suggestion is that you can download “PCG New TriPianos Originally a bank of Piano and keyboard sounds for that Korg Triton created by Robert Tiess. This data has now been converted to PA80 format”; you can download the above from http://www.irishacts.com//support/pa80.html
They are tweaked programs of PA-80 internal samples you might find a better Piano in them.
