Hi there
Ive had two 606's with the same problem. As far as I can tell, there is a problem with some components inside around the power area (on the left side of the main PCB). These parts connect voltage supplies to different sections of the box as well as cut off battery power when the adapter is plugged in. Anyways.... specifically on mine, the ground wasnt being connected all the way from the adapter plug to the machine's ground (it runs through a bunch of those components you know.. somethings gone bad but i dont know what!) ... so i straight soldered a wire from the adapter ground lead to another ground spot on the board.. PROBABLY NOT THE BEST WAY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM! because I now have other problems which are most likely the result of something getting fried. Until I figure out which components in the power area are bad, Im going to stick with my ghetto rigged wire to the ground.... then I'll find out what else has gotten damaged. *sigh* .. poor poor mr 606.
