A friend of mine just sent out a notice that one of her relatives just married a man who was trying to get into the music business. He just produced a CD that she felt was very good. She was asking her friends if anyone knew how to pursue such a career? He is a singer/songwriter.
I figured with all of the talented and knowledgeable people on this loop (boy I hope you guys can get your heads through the door now) you could help me out and I can pass on the recommendations.

Thanks,
- Brian

Brian. Tell him be forwarned. There are a lot of places out there just waiting to take your money and run. It isn't an easy place to break into. You might take a look at www.tonos.com. You have to join and pay a monthly fee. Or give NSAI (Nashville songwriters association international) a look. Look up music publishers on the internet for the type of music he does. Get on one of those Fame TV shows.

Guardman and Terry,
Thanks for the replies. I will let my friend know so they can pass on this information. I appreciate your responses.

You've probably heard this before but just in case.
Any publisher that charges a fee up front to publish yours or anybody's music, is one to avoid. There's good people, there's bad people, and then there's down-right mean people, who just want to separate you from your money. Just my thots.
On a different note...anyone out there familiar with or had any experience with TAXI? Just askin'....
