Does the tyros 2 styles work on the s900. I want to purchase the s900 but there are some styles that the tyros has and the s900 doesn't. cumbia, merengue, tejano cumbia.

Thanks, mario

Yes, all the styles from T2 work in the S900, I have both, one thing, not for the styles, if you had edited SMFs with some voices that are NOT available in the S900 factory, TVNs, you must re-assign a similar sound. This apply if you have a USER style that have a T2 assigned voices no available in the S900, otherwise, works like a charm !...

This also applies the other way around in STYLES.

Hi Mdorantes,
Since you used to own SD1, can I ask you your impression as far as styles go, between PA800, SD1, and S900, I bought PA1Xpro elte about 2 months ago, but still use SD1 a lot, thanks!

Hi:

Regarding the styles in the different boards I have then and now, well, I miss a few from the SD1.
I know that is subjetive, for example, I play for Senior Dances, a lot of Ballroom Music, so, there are styles That I see myself using more as example.
For Foxtrots (Med Tempo) I like the PA800
Similar but more Big bandish....the T2.
In Latin I like both......The Mistery Cha cha is Awsome in the PA800, I also use a LOT of user Styles in BOTH.
The S900 is VERY much like the T2, so, everything I say regarding the T2 applies to the S900.

The SD1 has busy styles, I had troubles with the limited polyphony, so, that make me switch brands....I will be looking close when the Audya cames out next year.

The T2 styles will work in the S900, but you will need to revoice some of the tracks. A lot of styles use some of the megavoices that are not available in the S900, and the OTSs use SA voices which are also not available.

MidiPlayer can do the revoicing.

Regards,

Michael
