I would love to buy a PSR2900 to replace my 3000, but if a replacement for the T2 were coming out in the Spring I would wait until then. Do any of you have an idea if Yanaha is working on a T2 replacement, and if so, when we might expect to see it?

YES, there's definitely a replacement in the works, but whether it will be called Tyros3 or not is anybody's guess. Based on prior Yamaha 'top of the line' new model release dates, it won't be until Fall 2008 though. - Scott

More standard RAM + larger user installed RAM base.
Up-graded Tyros Spkr System ( more power ).

Finnaly , Intel Mac supprort as well as upgraded "song book" software.

USB keyboard input for easy edit and data managment.

Just a wish list

O---& a 61 key with FSX ( the same as now ) as a lower priced Tyros or top end PSR series A/KB. with all the spec`s as above.

That would be a sweet arranger.

Now , all we have to do is convince Yamaha to build it.

We all know the Tyros is quality plus , it always has been.

How about the little guy ??

Yamaha really needs to rethink there game plan.
The PSR`s are great , but still , not the best as far as quality ,however you still can`t beat the "bang for the buck" of a top end PSR.

With that said , Yamaha needs to build either a high end PSR with an FSX key-bed and speakers built in , or lower the cost of a Tyros.

Right now the PSR-S900 is so close to the Tyros 2 as far as sound , it almost not worth buying a Tyros , unless of course you want quality and a great key-bed.
I want quality and a great key-bed and built in speakers.

Build a quality 61 A/KB with "Tyros" quality and charge the same as a Motif XS6 , and I`m there ... count me in.

If your going to spend 1600 bucks for an S900 then a few more hundred really wouldn`t make that much difference.

Your PSR`s have always sold good , now build them so they sell great.

Yamaha , you can be at the very top , if you just build with quality.

Korg , Roland , ect. you could beat them all.

One last word:

Quality !

The S900 is the "best bang for the buck" of all the arrangers.

Quality is terrific, especially considering the price, which is a lot less than a Tyros2.

My old PSR-3000 went for 3 years of nearly constant playing and traveling...never a problem...still works just fine.

No reason to expect any less from my new PSR-S900.

Maybe I should have another look at the S900.

First impressions were , why rubber buttons , I expected a standard PSR key-bed.

I had many Yamaha`s through the years , PSR-510 / Y2K / X4500 and a few other , even the PSS-47.

Other than the Y2K , all had key-beds that were alright , not great but alright.

The Y2K and later PSR models , seem to have lost the edge , so to speak.

I`m glad that you have had good luck with your Y3K and I wish all the best with your S900.

But I have to ask , how are your rubber buttons ??
I had them on the `510 and even on the X4500. however the S900 that I tried seemed like there was nothing there when you pushed them , O sure they worked , but really nothing tactile.

Maybe it was because it was a floor model that was abused , I don`t know !!!

I just really would like a nice A/KB and the S900 is a very nice A/KB , maybe I should try another.

I'm not sure why Yamaha changed the buttons...I liked the ones on my old 3k.

I do however like the rubber buttons on the S900 because they seem to be grippier than the old ones and my fingers don't slip on them in the heat of a performance.

They do require a more positive push...but being just above the keys, that's probably a good thing as there will not be any unexpected surprises.

At first I almost questioned if the upgrade from 3k to S900 was worth it...but after spending some time with the latter, I am positive I made the right decision.

I too had a 2k, a 510(great styles) and the 4500...they were very nice, but the S900 is a new breed of instrument.

Hopefully the T3 will offer all of the things you wished for...it's a great list.
