I am trying to get my MC 500 to repeat a series of notes that I have recorded. ie. Iam recording a particular musical phrase over say, three measures and I want the MC 500 to repeat this pattern over and over for a specified number of measures. I have tried every way I can think of to achieve this but all to no avail.
I don't know if I should be using "Block Repeat" in the function menu or "Copy" in the edit menu.
Using "Copy" I have so far........
1) Recorded the initial piece successfully over (over 3 measures)

2) On the copy screen I have specified the tracks, the measures to be copied, and how many times copied etc. The last intruction from the copy screen is "are you sure? press load" and the screen then counts down from the specified number.

3) When I then play the piece back only my original notes are played, not the repeats.

All the midi channels are ok as I can record normally and play back

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What software/version are you using ?
I think it is very possible to do that, but depend on your version of the software. You can download the new version (I mean, the last version that Roland ever released, that about 10 years ago !)on Roland USA official homepage (http://www.rolandus.com/).
