I'm glad Yamaha "conjured" up the S900...it's a boss 'board...I had a 3k, and in my opinion, the upgrade is substantial...SA voices and audio to USB being the highlights...and also the S900 is less expensive than the 3k was when it was introduced.

Plus, the keyboard is light, well made and easy to set up(built in speakers).

It was an easy choice for me...I would have bought it for that great SA Sax alone.

As stated it S series...was a good vehicle for Yamaha to dump off excess parts from previous units. Its all about money, its a normal business practice.

Donny, I had no idea you knew so much about Yamaha's inventory...you must be well informed, or secretly working for the company.

Why?

And if you'd rather have the S900 than the S700 but can't afford the S900 right now: Just wait and save some more money. Even though you may never know exactly what you miss out on if you go for the S700, you'll still have that nagging idea of "but what if I had bought the S900..."

That's the dilemma I have When the 1500/3000 came into "existence" I had enough money for the PSR1500 but wantd the 3000, and I waited and tried to save money for the 3000 but I had some problems and spend the money and I did not get either one.... so know I'm I have the same problem.

I need a keyboard for my band right now, I want the "SpareParts"900 !

Thanks guys, I'll find out by next week if I can come up with the rest of the money.....WAIT!! I GOT AN IDEA, Each of you can send me $5.00 AN I can get my SparePArts 900 ..................................................................

Just kidding of course!!

Vilo, good luck in your quest for the KB that will make your musical experience a happy one.....I dare not ask for demos when & if you get it ......but whatever you do with it make it sound GREAT!

I tried the s900 and s700 side-by-side at Sam Ash.
If I had not decided to reorder the E60 (see my post in
the Roland arranger forum: E60 2nd time around) I would
have selected the s700 over the s900.

Why? I didn't feel i would make much use of what the s900 offered for $600 more..namely the vocal harmonizer
and SA voices. Also, the monochromatic screen seemed easier to see than the color screen. But for the majority
that would use the harmonizer and SA's, those features are definitely worth the $600 more, especially in view of
the fact the s900 will be more desirable for resale.

You can find some demos of the PSR2000 from some time ago here:
www.tagworld.com/vicentelopez

Not all the songs were done with the PSR2000 but is easy to hear/find out which ones were.
