I dont use Bass Pedals but many still people do.
With Auto Bass on Arranger Kb's why is it still your choice to use pedals?
Preference, Habit, Sound, Or?................
Interesting to hear your thoughts!

Donny,

I only use bass pedals when I'm playing in our band. When I'm doing that I'm not using any arranger functions. I play good bass with my foot but no where near what the arranger can do. When I'm performing solo or in my trio (Tyros, trumpet, tenor sax) I let the arranger play the bass.

Years ago, pedal bass or left handed bass wasa the only option for a single act, so some of us are used to it.

Flexibility is the key for me. Having the option of playing a pedal bass allows for dramatic, custom endings after the arranger function is turned off at the end of a tune,

Free form tune introductions, manual playing when the auto baseline isn't appropriate, etc.

It gives you more control over the over-all performance.

I use both, plus left-handed "Jimmy Smith"
type bass.

But that's me...
