Just a quick question.
I notice that the time is shown as 9 hours back from UK.
So I assume that in California you are still on daylight saving? Until when?
cheers
Eddie

Hi Mike
Sorry for the long delay in replying to you.
I have been away for a few days.
Ok, We also here in UK have British Summer Time until 29th October.
But at the moment the weather is being very kind to us and we hope to have Summer Time for a few more weeks yet
cheers
Eddie

The UK is 8 hours ahead of the San Fran Cisco area of California. For example if I call my son on Skype at 4pm from the UK, his time is 8am.
Is there a part of Cal. that is 9 hours behind us?

John

Hi John
The reason I typed 9 hours was because the time on this forum uses GMT and therefore at the moment the standard time difference is 9 hours GMT not 8 hours as is normal.
cheers

I guess we should all be like the province of Saskatchewan. They don't change their clocks with the season.

btw - Newfoundland's time zone is only half an hour ahead of its western neighbouring provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Quebec, not the usual one hour (does the U.S. have any odd exeptions like this?)

Oh, we're a weird and wonderful bunch up here in the Great White North. :-)

Thanks for that Renig. Just shows how much you can learn on SZ
Actually, around the world there are other examples of neighbouring States having only half an hour between border times....
Iraq and Iran,,Pakistan and India...Central Australia and Eastern Australia.
Another oddity nearly took place many years ago when it was proposed that UK should have the same time as Mainland Europe but the idea was voted down. After all, the whole world time is based on Greenwich Mean Time (Greenwich in London)
Same as, it was also suggested that we in UK should change over from driving on the left to driving on the right to fit in with most of the rest of the world. Cheek! We are driving on the right (correct) side of the road
Only kidding!
cheers
