Beachbum,
for what it's worth, here is my opinion: you have decided to go the unconventional route and cut a "pop-rock" version of "Silent night", so I think that the oboe playing the melody in the background is a bit out of place (too "traditional"). The strings, however, are very expressive.
I like the chord progressions you introduce here and there (especially the diminished chords).
From a technical point of view, I think that the stereo field is too narrow (did you pan left and right the two channels?) and there is a bit of background noise (audible at the very beginning and at the end of the song).
Your voice is very expressive, but here and there sounds a bit strained; maybe you could transpose the song a half-tone down?
All in all, I think that you show a great degree of creativity and a good taste for music.

Hi there DJ,
I enjoyed this and you certainly gave it the DJ treatment

I did like the the contrast between the traditional backing and the rock 'edgyness' of your voice and, like Andrea thought the chord progressions were striking.

If I could be allowed a slight criticism it would be that to my ears the timing of the vocal was slightly out in places. Most noticeable to me was the line 'Christ the Saviour' ....on the word 'Saviour' ( the big one that goes way up!). You seem to hold the note just a millisecond too long and then have to dash to catch up for the end? Just my thoughts though......apart from that I really liked it.
Very Best to you
Tony W

DJ,
Not bad but I like your original pieces much better, but then again I appreciate original creativity more than covers to begin with.

Thanks for listening guys...
I guess I wanted this to be very diffrent and the timing and what not I wanted as well... I will be re-recording it. However, I wanted to get on the right track and which will give the over all tone to this whole project... Jazz man... My wife and family want this so that's why I'm doing it.
Thanks everyone for the great suggestions and will try and fix the problems...

Dj,
If I am reading correctly into this that you want it to sound like a Jazz xmas cut then it really does need a totally different feel and style to it.

No Terry, When I refer to Jazz man that's you. Since your TRTJazz, (anytime I say Jazz man that's Terry) I want this to be a rock slash pop Christmas CD... I think I've set the tone with the first song...I want it to be different and I want it to be my style that's all..

Thanks again,
The unemployed DJ
