I have some midis , but last sunday a friend of mine asked me for 'Come and let me look in your eyes' written/sung by John Denver.
Using search-machines brought no luck, perhaps on this forum ?

I'm not so sure he has the exact title right on this one. I checked through the achives and couldn't find anything, but I'm still searching.

Roel, I just searched through 141 John Denver midis and couldn't find a single one with that title. I'm working a phrase search now, but so far, I'm coming up dry.

Cheers,

Gary

Roel,
Just searched all the way back to 1969 and that title didn't show up. However, I found one that may be the song you're looking for. Here are the lyrics:

Don’t Close Your Eyes Tonight (Kerr/Musker)

There's a tenderness that I feel, very real you see. I can feel your body stir, so deep within.
Let it be an act of love tonight, completely. Let me ask of you one thing:
Don't close your eyes tonight. Just look at me, and see how many times I cried for you.
Don't close your eyes tonight. Let it be me, not just a fantasy, let it be me tonight.

You can lie so close to someone and still feel all alone.
Although I've heard you say you love me so many times.
When you give me love so beautiful and tender, someone else is in your mind.
Don't close your eyes tonight. Just look at me, and see how many times I cried for you.
Don't close your eyes tonight. Let it be me, not just a fantasy, let it be me tonight.

Sorry if I cry, feelings run so deep.
Many is the time when I wake up and find I've been crying in my sleep.
Look me in the eye, tell me what you see,
I'm the one who loves you, I'm the one who needs you, make this one for me.

Don't close your eyes tonight. Just look at me, and see how many times I cried for you.
Don't close your eyes tonight. Let it be me, not just a fantasy, let it be me tonight.
Don't close your eyes tonight. Just look at me, and see how many times I cried for you.
Don't close your eyes tonight. Let it be me, not just a fantasy, let it be me tonight.

Hops this helps,

Gary

Hi Roel,

Though I wasn't able to find a midi file of John Devner's song: "Come and Let Me Look Into Your Eyes", I've included the lyrics below.

Apparently, according to my music library source, this song appears on four of Denver's albums, and was first released on his 1976 'Spirit' album. It has also been released on The Rocky Mountain Collection, Reflections: Songs of Love and Life and The Country Roads Collection albums.

"Come and Let Me Look Into Your Eyes",

- words by John Denver & Joe Henry
- music by John Denver

I guess growing isn’t hard to do
Just stand against the wall
Once I was just two feet high
Today I’m six feet tall

But knowing who to listen to
Is something else again
Words just whistle ‘round my head
Like seasons in the wind

All across the water the clouds are sailing
They won’t let me look at the sky
All I want to do is try and find myself
Come and let me look in your eyes

In searching for the way to go
I’ve followed all the rules
The way they say to chooses between
The wise men and the fools

I listen to the words they say
I read what I should read
I do whatever’s right to do
Try to be what I should be

Someone let me in I think the sky is falling
Seems I’ve gotten lost on my way
All I want to do is try and find myself
Come and let me look in your eyes

Ah, but wisdom isn’t underground
Nor on a mountainside
And where am I to take myself
There’s no place here to hide

All across the universe the stars are fading
Seems we’ve gotten lost on our way
All I want to do is try and find myself
Come and let me look in your eyes
Come and let me look in your eyes
Come and let me look in your eyes

Hope this helps - Scott

I forgot to write I did find the lyrics. It is the song you mention Scott.

In fact I've the MP3 file too. As usual John Denver recorded the song with accoustic guitars and they are not easy to play on a keyboard

The tempo in the original recording is extremely instable..... so I was hoping on a midifile or instrumental audio-file
