Can anyone help on this please...
My wk8 octave button, recently, stopped functioning properly. If I want to shift one octave up, it'll fail. However, when shifting to a low octave, it'll work properly. I was thinking to reload the OS. Does anybody wnat to shed a light on this.
Thanks a million.

Man, haven't had that one yet.

Before you reload the OS, try a 'Reset' instead. I'm at work so I'll try this from memory. Press the 'General' button (button is on the right-side-bank), this brings up the General page on your screen and on the right hand side of that screen is a selection called 'Reset All'. Can't remember what 'F' button it is (F4 or F5). It will ask to confirm if you want to Reset All, hit Yes. I'm told that is the equivilant of spinning the rotary wheel while turning the keyboard on (which also resets the board to factory specs). Of course if that doesn't work, go with the OS reload...Ya got the latest one (4-26-00)?

And just to be sure I'm understanding you correctly, you can go lower an octave but you can't even go back up one from there? (just wondering if you were hitting any kind of limits)

Good Luck!

Hi, Most probably your MICRO switch is gone it has to be changed and it is not so easy, I do mine myself but I am a technician, If you want to know if the MICROSWITCH is gone there is a procedger to test all MICRO SWITCHES on your keyboard if any of you want to know how Here is how to do it but be careful ok, just do what I am tellenig you "DON'T MESS AROUND WITH THE OTHER TESTING THERE IS OK.

This is the procedger but be careful save your work before you do it, not that it will destroy your work but as a safty Precaution.
HERE IT IS

Switch Keyboard on
Press GENERAL (which is Keypad No 9)
Pres F3 then F8 (one after the other)
Press ENTER

Than from the Screnn Select PANET TEST (I think it's F1)
that will take you to all the switches you have on your keyboard.
Now Press the octave button the + I think you said, If it doese not HIGHLIGHT the PANEL you have on the SCREEN It means it has to be replaced. And take it to a Technician that has done this job before on a WK8.

one other thing I forgot to tell you please don't hit the the switches hard cause they wont last a long time believe me I have changed over 200 switches so far that is of my friends, and if the + is not working I believe you can still adjust the transpostion with the WHEEL.

Hope I was of some help.

Thank you all of your advice. I'll try
the reset and if it does not work, I'll use
this feature via the wheel.
