I've just bought the jx-305 and having serious problems getting the Atari to record notes from the 305. I'm running Qbase v2, is it possible to actually do this as I've done exactly what the manual says for setting up the synth to run off an external sequencer. Can anyone help me as I'm getting quite frustrated, cheers

Hello,
First, what is the JX? A controller? As far as getting the Atari or Cubase to record, any time you put a midi signal into them & the record button is pushed, if there's midi data comming in it'll get recorded. I have a 1040STE running Edit Track, & I've rarely had problems with midi input because of a problem with the Atari. As far as Cubase goes, I run VST on my PowerMac, & the only thing I can think of is to make sure that Cubase knows ( if it's necessary on your prg ) that there is data comming in from your JX. Look for a menu selection that says " Midi Input ", or " Midi Setup ", something like that, & make sure all your setting are correct. A help would be to check to see if midi through is working to your synth modules, or whatever is producing the audio. Also, try something else that sends midi data, like another keyboard or drum machine, etc., to see if it's just the JX or any midi device that's not being recorded. Is this the only device that is having a problem? Have you checked the event list to see if data IS getting into Cubase, but it's not going anywhere?
Feel free to e-mail, if I can be of any help, I'll certainly try.
