Hi
I am trying to find the perfect sound to the James Brown "I feel good". The sound is a kind of Brass and Sax combination but I just can't get it to sound absolutely right. I have a T2 and an E80 but even with any combination of sounds just can't get the overall sound right. Any ideas on sounds/layers etc would be much appreciated.
Regards
Mark

Hi;
maybe you could take some midi file of this song, and than you can see what kind of Brass is choosen on GM.

I made a custom horn patch, years ago for when I played Chicago songs. It was a simple, two part sound, made up of a strong, articulate tenor sax and a big, fat trumpet sound. They were panned hard left and hard right, and the effect was just what I needed for playing live horn lines that didn't sound "Farfisa-ish".

I've found that the more sounds you layer together, the closer it sounds like an organ, so I try to keep it simple, whenever possible.

Don't use brass "sections" ... use a single trumpet sound. Add some light chorus if you need to thicken it up a bit.

Good luck !
